Summer Neuropsychology Research Presentation
Since this summer I have the chance to do research with Loyola University's Center for Research on Child Development (CRCD). I put together this presentation (with fellow researcher Sonya Ricaurte) to explain the study we are working on. This study specifically breaks down how infants process auditory and visual stimuli. Specifically we looked at infants at elevated likelihood for Autism and ADHD.
Autism Research Annotated Bibliography
I wrote this annotated bibliography this summer while working in Loyola's Center for Research on Child Development. I was collecting relevant research for my supervisor, Dr. Guy, in relation to infant audiovisual processing and autism. Provided are five research studies and my explanation of how they could be relevant to our research. This is presented as a professional APA style annotated bibliography.
Ella Torno Sample SOAP Note
A SOAP note is clinical documentation created by speech pathologist to track a client’s progress and guide their treatment. It organizes information into four categories Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP). I created this SOAP note during my study abroad speech pathology coursework this summer. It breaks down a sample client and really prepared me for future documentation I will be doing as an SLP.

Bulgarian Culture Ecomap
This is an ecomap I created this summer while studying abroad in Bulgaria. I took a speech pathology cultural immersion course and they encouraged us to make one of these visual diagrams to better understand the community we are working in. Ecomaps are visual representations of relationships within a culture between the environment and the community. This exercise not only gave me a better understanding of the culture I was being welcomed into but also pushed me to reflect on how these connections impact my own life at home.
Psychology Research Methods Academic Essay
This is an essay I wrote in my psychology research methods class. I conducted a study in collaboration with Nora Raasch, a fellow student, that looked at recall for exams. I wrote this APA style essay discussing the results of the study and providing a mathematical analysis on our data. While the study we conducted did not yield any significant results, it was a great experience going through the process of conducting a study and writing a professional essay.
